- Kent Somers reports that the Cardinals designated Colledge as a June 1 release, which will give them $4.55 cap hit that will be spread over two years.
- Somers expects the Cardinals to make the move official on Monday.
This should free up close to $2.725 million in available cap space.
Colledge, 32, signed a five-year, $27.5 million contract that included a $7.5 million signing bonus with the Cardinals back in 2011. He had two years remaining on his contract at $4.8 million base salaries and a cap figure of $7.74 million.
