The Arizona Cardinals announcedย Tuesday that they’ve signed seven players to future/reserve contracts including:
- RB Elijhaa Penny
- LB Cap Capi
- WR Marvin Hall
- WR Chris Hubert
- G Kaleb Johnson
- OL Daniel Munyer
- CB Ronald Zamort
Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.
Hubert, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Fayetteville State back in May. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later added to the team’s practice squad at the start of the season.
Arizona brought him back after he was waived from the unit a few weeks into the season and promoted him to their active roster. However, he was cut loose soon after and re-signed to their practice squad.
During the preseason Hubert appeared in all four games and caught five passes for 86 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Cardinals.
