The Arizona Cardinals announced Thursday that they’ve signed WRย Aaron Dobson and P Richie Leone to future/reserve contracts.
The Cardinals have now signed nine players to futures deal since their season ended including:
- RB Elijhaa Pennyย (NFLTR)
- LB Cap Capi
- WR Marvin Hall
- WR Chris Hubert
- G Kaleb Johnson
- OL Daniel Munyer
- CB Ronald Zamort
- WRย Aaron Dobson
- Pย Richie Leone
Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.
Dobson, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2013. He was in the final year of hisย four-year, $3.428 million rookie contract that includedย $1.173 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $872,505ย in 2016 when he was waived by the Patriots.
The Lions later signed him to their active roster and was on and off of their rosterย until they eventually moved on.
In 2015,ย Dobson appeared in eight games and caught 13 passes for 141 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
