Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Cardinals appear to be desperate to add a pass rusher to play opposite of Chandler Jones and Terrell Suggs could be someone to keep an eye on, seeing as he’s an Arizona native.
In fact, La Canfora reports that Ravens’ teammates believe both Suggs and ILB C.J. Mosley could be headed to the Cardinals this offseason.
The Ravens made the decision to pass on franchising Mosley on Tuesday, paving the way for him to test the open market. The expectation is that Mosley is going to get big money on the open market, so it won’t be surprising to hear other teams linked to him.
Mosley, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $8,788,002 rookie contract before the Ravens picked up his fifth-year option last year.
Mosley made a base salary of $8,718,000 for the 2018 season and is now in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
In 2018, Mosley appeared in 15 games for the Ravens and recorded 105 tackles, a half sack, an interception and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 22 receiver out of 93 qualifying players.
Suggs, 36, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2003. He played out the final year of his five-year, $28.5 million contract that included $16 million guaranteed and made a base salary of $6.5 million for the 2018 season.
Suggs will be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.
In 2018, Suggs appeared in 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 34 tackles, seven sacks, a forced fumble, a recovery returned for a touchdown and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 40 edge rusher out of 107 qualifying players.
