Texans HC Gary Kubiak told reporters on Monday that Case Keenum will be the team’s starting quarterback in Week 12, despite being replaced by Matt Schaub on Sunday.
“Case will start Sunday,” said Kubiak. “I have total confidence in him.”
Kubiak added that the decision to bench Keenum was designed to prevent him from being placed in a bad situation.
“I didn’t want to put a young guy in a bad situation. I’d do it again. I tried to help out QB and offensive line.”
The Texans have been a disaster this season and flip-flopping between quarterbacks is hardly the type of thing that will decrease the level of scrutiny surrounding this team. It’s getting to the point where it’s hard to see Kubiak returning for another season under any circumstance.
