Cedric Benson Will Continue To See A Large Workload

Packers offensive coordinator Tom Clements says he doesn’t expect to lessen running back Cedric Benson‘s workload anytime soon.

“He’s a workhorse and when he touches the ball, the more he touches it, the better he gets,” said Clements of Benson, via Mike Vandermause of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.. “We’d like to work those other guys in there if the opportunity presents itself but you try to get (Benson) the ball to get him going.”

So far this season, Benson has accounted for 91 percent of the carries for all Packers running backs. While he’s only averaging 3.5 yards per carry, Alex Green and James Starks aren’t expected to be worked into a rotation anytime soon. Benson should have another easy test Sunday as he goes up against the Colts defense, which ranks 22nd in rushing yards given up per game.
