The Chargers have designated RB Justin Jackson to return from injured reserve, per Gilbert Manzano.
This opens a three-week window for Jackson to practice with the team before he has to be added back to the active roster.
Jackson, 24, was a seventh-round pick by the Chargers out of Northwestern in the 2018 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $2,529,070 rookie contract and was set to earn a base salary of $480,000 when the Chargers waived him coming out of the preseason.
Los Angeles re-signed him to the practice squad before promoting him to the active roster shortly afterward, where he’s remained since.
In 2020, Jackson has appeared in six games for the Chargers and rushed 45 times for 185 yards (4.1 YPC) and no touchdowns to go with 15 catches for 131 yards.
