Chargers HC Anthony Lynn Pressing For Decision From Gus Bradley, But He’s Waiting To See If Tom Cable Gets 49ers’ Job

Mike Silver of NFL Media reports that newย Chargers HC Anthony Lynn is pressing former Jaguars HC Gus Bradley for aย decisionย regarding their defensive coordinator position.

However, Silver says that Bradley wants to hold off to see Seahawks assistant HC Tom Cable lands the 49ers’ head-coaching job.ย According to Silver, Bradley could end up serving as the 49ers’ defensive coordinator should Cable get the job.

Bradley and Cable both worked together in Seattle years ago, so there’s an obvious connection between the two.

Previous reportsย have said that Lynn and Bradley were being sold as a tandem, possibly for the Bills. However, Buffalo elected to go in a different direction altogether and hired Sean McDermott as their new head coach.

Since then, Bradley has met with the Redskins but it became clear that the Chargers could be the team to watch after they closed the deal with Lynn.

Bradley is widely considered to be the best available defensive coordinatorย right now, so he does have options to consider.

Bradley, 50, was hired by the Jaguars back in 2013 after he spent four years with the Seahawks. In four years with the Jaguars, Bradley produced a record of 14-47 (23 percent) and no playoff appearances. The Jaguarsโ€™ most wins under Bradley was five from last year.

Weโ€™ll have more regarding the Bradley and the Chargersโ€™ defensive coordinator job as the news is available.
