The Los Angeles Chargers announced that they have placed TE Hunter Henry, G Forrest Lamp, and CB Jason Verrett on their physically unable to perform list, and placed first-round S Derwin James on the non-football injury list.

Henry sustained a torn ACL while running downfield on a drill back in May and is expected to miss the entire season. (NFLTR)
Henry, 23, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $6.38 million contract that included $3.98 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $1.03 million and $1.32 million over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2017, Henry appeared in 14 games for the Chargers and caught 45 passes for 579 yards receiving and four touchdowns.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 3 tight end out of 74 qualifying players.
Verrett left Friday’s practice with what is believed to be a torn Achilles, which would “likely” be season-ending as well. (NFLTR)
This is terrible news for Los Angeles and Verrett, who missed all of last season due to a knee injury. The cornerback also sustained a season-ending torn ACL in 2016.
Verrett, 27, was taken with the No. 25 overall pick back in 2014 by the Chargers. He finished his four-year rookie contract and is playing out this season under the fifth-year option, which will make himย $8,526,000.
In 2016, Verrett appeared in four games and recorded 13 tackles, one interception and three pass defenses for the Chargers. His year ended after he suffered aย torn left ACL and was subsequently placed on season-ending injured reserve.
