The San Diego Chargers announced Friday that they’ve signed G Craig Watts to their practice squad and released G Michael Huey from the unit.
Watts, 24, wound up signing on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M back in May of last year. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was later added to the team’s practice squad.
San Diego elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract December. However, he was cut loose earlier in the week.
Watts managed to make the 53-man roster a few weeks back, but he could be headed to the team’s practice squad again.
He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
