Mike Garafolo reports that the Chargers have agreed to a two-year, $17 million deal with veteran DT Linval Joseph that includes another $2 million in incentives.
It’s worth mentioning that signing Joseph to a contract won’t impact the Chargers 2021 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.
Joseph, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Giants back in 2010. He spent four seasons in New York before departing in 2014 for a five-year, $31.5 million contract with the Vikings.
Joseph had two years remaining on his deal when he agreed to a four-year, $50 million extension that included $31.5 million guaranteed when the Vikings released him last week.
In 2019, Joseph appeared in 13 games for the Vikings and recorded 44 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble.
We had him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
