Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune writes that Chargers GM A.J. Smith is could be more willing to trade WR Vincent Jackson this season than last year.
Acee mentions that the Chargers may be willing to move him for a package that could consist of a second and a middle-round draft pick.
The Chargers haven’t shown much interest in signing Jackson to a long term contract which is likely why the idea has been floated. Depending on how the team does during the upcoming season, they may want to keep Jackson to solidify their passing game. Jackson returned to the team last year and caught three touchdowns in his first game back. He has value and the Chargers are certainly better with him so I wouldn’t expect them to field offers unless they are off to another disappointing start.
