The Los Angeles Chargers officially waived TE Austin Roberts on Thursday.
Roberts, 23, wound up going undrafted out of UCLA last year. He tried out for the 49ers during their rookie minicamp before signing on with the Chargers towards the end of May.
Unfortunately, Roberts suffered an ACL tear last July that led to him being placed on injured reserve.
During his three-year college career at UCLA, Roberts appeared in 17 games and caught 35 passes for 500 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
