Chiefs Claim DB Brock Vereen Off Waivers From Patriots

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Chiefs have claimed DB Brock Vereen off of waivers from the Patriots on Wednesday.

This comes just a day after theย Patriots reinstated Vereen from the reserve/retired list and placed him on waivers Tuesday. Overall, this has been a very peculiar week for Vereen, considering the number of transactions he’s been involved in.

Vereen, 23, is a formerย fourth-round pick of the Bears back in 2014. He wasย in the second year of hisย four-year, $2,611,500 rookie contractย when the Bears cut him looseย a few weeks into the 2015 season.

The Vikings later signed him to their practice squad beforeย he later caught on with the Patriots towards the end of last year.ย Vereen returned to New England on a future/reserve contract this past January.

In 2015, Vereen has appeared in three games for the Bears, but did notย record a single statistic.
