Chiefs Claim DB Brock Vereen Off Waivers From Patriots

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Chiefs have claimed DB Brock Vereen off of waivers from the Patriots on Wednesday.

This comes just a day after the Patriots reinstated Vereen from the reserve/retired list and placed him on waivers Tuesday. Overall, this has been a very peculiar week for Vereen, considering the number of transactions he’s been involved in.

Vereen, 23, is a former fourth-round pick of the Bears back in 2014. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2,611,500 rookie contract when the Bears cut him loose a few weeks into the 2015 season.

The Vikings later signed him to their practice squad before he later caught on with the Patriots towards the end of last year. Vereen returned to New England on a future/reserve contract this past January.

In 2015, Vereen has appeared in three games for the Bears, but did not record a single statistic.
