Chiefs Designate S Daniel Sorensen To Return From IR

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Wednesday that they’ve designated S Daniel Sorensen as one of their two players to return from injured reserve.

This officially opens up a three-week window of time for the Chiefs to add Sorensen to their active roster or he would revert back to injured reserve.

Sorensen was placed on injured reserve coming out of the preseason with a knee injury.

Sorensen, 28, wound up signing on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Brigham Young back in May of 2014. He was unfortunately among their final roster cuts during his rookie season, but later signed on to their practice squad.

The Chiefs brought Sorensen back on a one-year, exclusive rights deal for the 2016 season before signing him to a four-year, $16 million contract last year.

In 2017, Sorensen appeared in 15 games for the Chiefs and recorded 89 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception, and six pass defenses.
