Chiefs Place G Ben Grubbs On Season-Ending I.R.

Chiefsย trainer Rick Burkholder told reporters that Gย Ben Grubbs will need another month to recover from his neck injury and he has been placed onย season-ending injurd reserve, per Terez Paylor.

Grubbs, 31, came over in a trade with the Saints in whichย Kansas City sentย a fifth-round pick to New Orleans for the veteran guard. The Chiefs wasted no time in signing him to aย four-year, $24 million contract that includedย $10.6 million guaranteed.

Grubbs will make a base salary of $900,000 this season to go along with $4.8 million (2016), $5.65 million (2017), andย $6.15 million (2018).

His 2015 season ends with him appearing in seven games for the Chiefs.ย Pro Football Focusย has him rated as the No. 33ย guardย out of 81ย qualifying players.
