Chiefs Place G Ben Grubbs On Season-Ending I.R.

Chiefs trainer Rick Burkholder told reporters that G Ben Grubbs will need another month to recover from his neck injury and he has been placed on season-ending injurd reserve, per Terez Paylor.

Grubbs, 31, came over in a trade with the Saints in which Kansas City sent a fifth-round pick to New Orleans for the veteran guard. The Chiefs wasted no time in signing him to a four-year, $24 million contract that included $10.6 million guaranteed.

Grubbs will make a base salary of $900,000 this season to go along with $4.8 million (2016), $5.65 million (2017), and $6.15 million (2018).

His 2015 season ends with him appearing in seven games for the Chiefs. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 33 guard out of 81 qualifying players.
