Still A Chance That LT Branden Albert Could Be Back In KC?

Update:

Chiefs GM John Dorsey told reporters on Friday that have yet to make a decision regarding impending free agent LT Branden Albert and whether or not he’ll be back with them next season, per Terez A. Paylor.

  • Dorsey added that the two sides are expected to remain in talks in the coming weeks.

This comes a week after a report indicated that the Chiefs have decided to allow Albert to test the open market.

Albert, 29, should have plenty of interest from teams in need of a true blindside protector. The Dolphins appear to be the most popular speculative option for Albert considering that previous reports indicated that HC Joe Philbin wanted to trade for him last offseason. The Buccaneers have also come up as a potential option for Albert.

We have him listed as the No. 23 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Danny Parkins of 610 Sports Radio reports that the Chiefs have made the decision to allow impending free agent LT Branden Albert to leave in the coming weeks.

  • Parkins adds that the Chiefs are expected to move forward with 2012 first-round pick Eric Fisher and Donald Stephenson as their starting tackles.
