According to Field Yates, the Chiefs have released RB DeAndre Washington as they trim their roster.
The release leaves Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson as Kansas City’s primary backup running backs.
Washington, 27, is a former fifth-round pick by the Raiders in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Texas Tech. He finished his four-year rookie contract and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.
In 2019, Washington appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 108 rushing attempts for 387 yards (3.6 YPC) and three touchdowns, to go along with 36 receptions for 292 yards receiving (8.1 YPC).
