According to Brooke Pryor, the deal is worth $11.255 million and makes Schwartz the second-highest paid right tackle in the league. Ian Rapoport reports that figure is essentially a signing bonus and his 2019 and 2020 salaries are now guaranteed.
The deal locks Schwartz up for the Chiefs through the 2021 season.
Schwartz, 30, was taken in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Browns. After playing out his rookie contract with the Browns, Schwartz signed a five-year, $33 million deal with the Chiefs in 2016 that included $15 million guaranteed.
In 2018, Schwartz started all 16 games for the Chiefs and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 4 offensive tackle out of 80 qualifying players.
