Terez A. Paylor of Yahoo Sports reports that the Chiefs have agreed to a one-year deal with G Kelechi Osemele.
According to Ian Rapoport, Osemele’s one-year deal with Kansas City is worth up to $2 million.
This comes less than a day after Chiefs RG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif announced that he is opting out of the 2020 season.
Last year, Osemele made the decision last year to undergo the shoulder procedure against the wishes of the Jets, which ultimately led to his release.
Osemele was linked to the Ravens earlier in the offseason, but there wasn’t a lot of buzz about him until now.
Osemele, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Ravens back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the Ravens before signing a five year, $58.5 million contract with the Raiders back in 2016.
The Raiders traded Osemele to the Jets this offseason for a fifth-round pick. He was later released by the Jets in October of last year and sat out the remainder of the season.
In 2019, Osemele appeared in three games for the Jets, making three starts.
