Chiefs Tyson Jackson Could Be Released?

Chiefs defensive lineman Tyson Jackson could be released this offseason, per Dave Skretta of the Associated Press.

โ€œDefensive end Tyson Jackson, whoโ€™s been a disappointment since being the No. 3 overall pick in 2009, is due to make close to $15 million this season,โ€ writes Skretta. โ€œThe Chiefs could try to restructure his deal or simply cut him in an attempt to create more money for filling in other holes.โ€

Former GM Scott Pioli is no longer making calls on the roster, so it would appear that Jacksonโ€™s only hope to stay with the team would be to take a pay-cut. With a team coming off of a horrid 2-14 season and new GM likely to be hired in the near future, the Chiefs could see a large turnover in their roster this offseason.
