Chiefs Sign K Harrison Butker To Five-Year Extension Worth Close To $20M

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Thursday that they’ve signed K Harrison Butker to a contract extension. 

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Butker’s receives a five-year extension worth around $20 million.

Butker, 23, is a former seventh-round pick of Panthers back in 2018. He signed a four-year, $2.48 million contract with the Panthers but was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to their practice squad. 

The Chiefs would add Butker to their active roster before bringing him back on an exclusive rights contract this offseason. 

In 2018, Butker appeared in all 16 games for the Chiefs and converted 24 of 27 field goal attempts (88.9 percent) to go along with 65 of 69 extra point tries (94.2 percent).
