Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that free agent RB Chris Johnson is heading to Arizona on Sunday to take a physical and work out for the Cardinals.
- Dianna Marie Russini of ESPN previously reported that the Cardinals had offered Johnson a one-year contract.
- Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that Johnson has multiple teams interested in his services, but he was waiting to make the right decision.
Cardinals HC Bruce Arians expressed some frustration in recent days with the team’s current group of running backs and added that they planned on discussing their available options.
Johnson was, unfortunately, involved drive by shooting back in March that took the life of a close friend who was sitting next to him in a car.
Johnson, 29, ran for 663 yards on 155 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with 24 receptions for 151 yards receiving and two total touchdowns during the 2014 season. Pro Football Focus rated Johnson as the No. 46 running back out of 57 qualifying players
