The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that they’ve activated DE Kemoko Turay from the Physically Unable to Perform list and waived DT Sheldon Day.
Turay, 25, was drafted by the Colts in the second round out of Rutgers in 2018. He signed a four-year, $5.2 million rookie deal with Indianapolis and stands to make a base salary of $954,400 for the 2020 season.
In 2019, Turay appeared in four games for the Colts and recorded five total tackles, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble. A broken ankle last week ended his season.
Day, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2016. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2.9 million contract when the Jaguars waived him during the 2017 season.
The 49ers later claimed Day off of waivers and he’s spent three years in San Francisco. The Colts signed Day to a one-year contract this past March.
In 2020, Day has appeared in four games for the Colts and recorded two tackles.
