According to Tom Pelissero, Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds has declined the Browns’ interview request.
Pelissero adds that Dodds feels there is unfinished business in Indianapolis, which regressed and missed the playoffs in 2019 following the surprise retirement of Andrew Luck.
Dodds is considered one of the NFLโs most respected scouts and previously worked with one of Cleveland’s other coaching candidates, 49ers DC Robert Saleh, in Seattle.
If there are other general manager openings after the draft, Dodds could find himself a candidate for those jobs.
Dodds worked for the Seattle Seahawks for 10 seasons and worked his way up to senior personnel executive. The Colts hired Dodds in 2017 and later promoted him to assistant general manager for the 2018 season.
