According to Tom Pelissero, the Colts have claimed former Bills CB Ryan Lewis off of waivers on Sunday.
Pelissero adds the Colts did not claim a quarterback despite needing a new backup. In a corresponding move, the team announced it waived CB Chris Milton.
Lewis, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh back in May of 2018. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed him to the Cardinals practice squad.
Lewis later caught on with the Patriots but was among their final roster cuts on at the start of the 2018 regular season. The Bills claimed Lewis off of waivers only to cut him loose and sign him to their practice squad for a brief time before signing him to the active roster in September.
In 2018, Lewis appeared in seven games for the Bills and recorded 14 total tackles, two forced fumbles, no interceptions and three pass defenses.
