The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that they’ve released TE Matt Lengel and placed TE Mo Alie-Cox, DE Jegs Jegede and DE Kemoko Turay on the active/physically unable to perform list.
Lengel, 29, originally signed on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Kentucky back in 2015. He spent over a year in Cincinnati before signing on to the Patriots’ practice squad during the 2016 season.
Lengel has a brief stint with the Browns before he was waived and later claimed by the Texans and eventually signed to their practice squad in September.
The Bengals claimed him off Houston’s taxi squad a month later but declined to tender him an offer last year and he eventually signed on with the Colts.
In 2016, Lengel appeared in six games for the Patriots and caught two passes for 22 yards receiving and one touchdown.
