The Indianapolis Colts officially designated WR Devin Funchess to return from injured reserve on Wednesday.
This officially opens a three-week window of time for Funchess to practice with the team before Indianapolis will need to add him to their active roster.
The Colts placed Funchess on injured reserve after Week 1 following surgery for a broken clavicle.
Funchess, 25, is a former second-round pick by the Panthers in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Michigan. He finished his four-year rookie contract with Carolina before agreeing to a one-year deal worth up to $13 million with the Colts this offseason.
Funchess will once again be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2019, Funchess has appeared in one game and caught three passes for 32 yards receiving.
