Mike Garafolo reports that the Colts have franchised punter Pat McAfee.
With no obvious candidate for the designation, it makes sense for the Colts to use the tag on a punter as it will cost them a very reasonable $2.97 million for the 2013 season.
McAfee put together a very solid season for the Colts and was rated as the No. 3 best punter in the league by Pro Football Focus.
A long-term deal remains a possibility for the Colts and McAfee.
