Mike Chappell is reporting on Twitter that Indianapolis Colts linebacker Robert Mathis will be sidelined for the next two to three games with a sprained left knee.
Mathis pursued a second medical opinion in Atlanta after the Colts’ 30-27 victory over the Green Bay Packers, which only confirmed the extent of his injury.
Mathis has compiled five sacks in the first four games, making a solid start to the season, so this is a blow to him and the Colts, who just got the other half of their patented pass rush, Dwight Freeney, back.
