Colts GM Chris Ballard says the team will place RB Spencer Ware on the PUP list for a couple weeks, per Kevin Bowen.
Ballard says Ware picked up a muscle injury and the team will take it easy with him. Ware will still count against the 90-man roster and can be activated from the list at any time.
Ware, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2013. He spent over a year in Seattle before signing on with the Chiefs at the end of the 2014 season.
The Chiefs signed Ware to a three-year, $4.2 million contract that included $1.6 million guaranteed in 2016. The team allowed Ware to hit free agency after his contract expired following this past season.
The Colts signed Ware to a one-year, $1.3 million deal for the 2019 season.
In 2018, Ware appeared in 13 games for the Chiefs, rushing 51 times for 246 yards (4.8 YPC) and two touchdowns. Ware also caught 20 passes for 224 yards receiving.
