ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Colts rookieย WR Phillip Dorsett suffered aย fractured ankle during Sunday’s loss to the Saints and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.
- Schefter adds thatย Dorsett will undergo further testing on Monday, for what it’s worth.
- Former NFL physician David Chao wouldn’t be surprised if Dorsett’s injury required surgery or led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve, as 4-6 weeks is optimistic for this kind of injury.
After the game,ย Dorsett was seen sportingย a walking boot and on crutches in the locker room, so it was clear that he could miss some time due to this injury.
Dorsett, 22, was taken in the first round of this year’s NFL draft, and isย in the first year of his four-year, $8.135 million rookie contractย that includedย $6.591 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary ofย $435,000 for the 2015 season.
Entering today’s game,ย Dorsett had caught 10 passes for 159 yards receiving and a touchdown for the Colts.
