The Indianapolis Colts announced Thursday that they’ve signed DE Obum Gwacham and waived DT Chunky Clements.
Gwacham, 28, is a former sixth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2015. He lasted just a few months in Seattle before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season.
Gwacham had brief stints with the Saints and Cardinals before the Jets signed him to their active roster in 2017. However, he was waived last August and sat out the 2018 season.
For his career, Gwacham has recorded six tackles, 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery.
Clements, 24, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois last year. Minnesota cut him loose as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit and he later signed on to the Texans’ practice squad.
Houston eventually promoted Clements to their active roster before waiving him and re-signing him to their taxi squad. Unfortunately, the Texans waived Clements in March 2018.
The Rams signed Clements in May, but waived him at the end of August during final roster cuts. He signed on with the Colts a few weeks ago.
In 2017, Clements appeared in two games for the Texans and recorded two tackles and a half sack.
During his four-year college career, Clements recorded 99 tackles, 26.5 tackles for a loss, six sacks, three forced fumbles, a recovery and five pass defenses over the course of 37 games.
