Colts Sign RT Braden Smith To Four-Year, $70M Extension

The Colts announced they have signed RT Braden Smith to an extension. 

Jeremy Fowler has the contract details. Smith’s deal is for four more years with $70 million in new money and $42 million guaranteed. 

The Colts have made it clear all offseason they viewed Smith as one of their building blocks and were able to get a new deal done right before the start of camp. 

Smith, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Colts back in 2018. He’s currently entering the final year of his four-year, $7,193,688 rookie contract that included a $3,311,772 signing bonus.

In 2020, Smith appeared in 14 games for the Colts, making 14 starts for them. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 16 tackle out of 79 qualifying players.
