The Indianapolis Colts announced that they have signed TE Gabe Holmes to a futures contract on Saturday.
The Colts have now signed 14 players to futures deals including:
- G William Poehls
- WR Krishawn Hogan
- OT Tony Garcia
- WR Steve Ishmael
- OT De’Ondre Wesley
- TE Billy Brown
- DT DeShawnย Williams
- CB Jalen Collins
- QB Phillip Walker
- LB Anthony Winbush
- S Isaiah Johnson
- CB D.J. Killings
- WR Jordan Veasy
- TE Gabe Holmes
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Holmes, 27, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue back in May of 2015. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of preseason, but was cut loose just a few weeks later.
Holmes had brief stints with the Seahawks and Ravens before signing on to their practice squad in 2017. Since then, he’s been on and off of their practice squad.
In 2018, Holmes appeared in eight games for the Cardinals but did not record any statistics.
