Colts Sign WR T.Y. Hilton To A Five-Year, $65M Extension

Kevin Bowen first reported that the Colts and WR T.Y. Hilton have reached an agreement on a long-term contract extension.

Hilton receives a five-year extension worth $65 million and includes $39 million guaranteed.

Last night Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that Hilton’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, was extending his stay in Indiana to continue working on a long-term extension for his client. It was clear that the two parties were motivated to get a long-term deal in place.

At $13 million per year, Hilton came very close to the recent contracts signed by Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas.

The Colts will likely shift gears towards addressing other players like LT Anthony Castonzo

Hilton, 25, has one year remaining on his four-year, $2.642 million rookie contract, which includes a base salary of $665,000 for the 2015 season.

Last year, Hilton caught 82 passes for a career high 1,345 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 10 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.
