Colts Signing Veteran CB Tony Carter

According to Rand Getlin, the Colts are signing veteran CB Tony Carter to a contract on Tuesday.

It is worth mentioning that CB Mike Adams went down with a hamstring injury that forced him out of Week 6’s game. Carter’s addition gives the Colts an extra veteran presence in their secondary.

Carter, 29, signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out Florida State of back in 2009. He briefly played for the Patriots and Vikings before rejoining the Broncos in 2011 when he signed to their practice squad.

However, he was unfortunately among the team’s final roster cuts.

In 2014, Carter appeared in eight games, recording five total tackles, one pass defense, and one fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown.

Pro Football Focus has Carter down for playing just 87 total snaps last year.
