Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that the Colts are signing former Panthers WR Devin Funchess to a one-year deal worth up to $13 million.
- Mortensen adds that Funchess’ contract carries a base salary of $10 million and includes $3 million in possible incentives.
Funchess, 24, is a former second-round pick by the Panthers in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Michigan. He finished his four-year rookie contract with Carolina and was testing the open market for the first time.
In 2018, Funchess appeared in 14 games for the Panthers and recorded 44 receptions for 549 yards receiving (12.5 YPC) and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 54 overall receiver out of 117 qualifying players.
