Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Colts are waiving RB Vick Ballard with an injured designation on Tuesday.
This means Ballard will need to clear waivers before he can be added to the team’s injured reserve list.
Ballard, 25, is in the final year of his four-year, $2.24 million rookie contract that included a $144,560 signing bonus. He’ll make a base salary of $660,000 this season.
Ballard has missed all but one game over the past two years, so there is obviously some serious question about his future in the NFL.
He’s currently dealing with an MCL injury.
