According to Brandon George, the Cowboys believe S Jameill Showers suffered a torn ACL during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s preseason game against the Bengals.
Showers is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Sunday.
Showers, 26, wound up going undrafted out of UTEP back in 2015 before signing a three-year, $1.425 million contract with the Cowboys. Dallas cut him loose this coming out of the preseason and he’s been on and off of their practice squad since then.
Dallas brought Showers back on a futures contract this past January.
During his college career, Showers completed 266 of 474 passing attempts for 3,121 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions over the course of two years at UTEP.
