Cowboys DE Damontre Moore Suspended Two Games For Substance Abuse Violation

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Cowboys DE Damontre Moore has been suspended two games for violating the substance abuse policy.

This season can’t get here soon enough for the Cowboys, as they’ve had a number of players dealing with off-the-field issues or suspended.

Moore, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Giants back in 2013. He lasted over two years in New York before he was waived in December of last year.

The Dolphins wound up claiming him off of waivers from the Giants. However, he was later waived and signed by the Raiders before being cut loose in October. Moore eventually caught on with the Seahawks and finished out the year in Seattle.

Moore signed a two-year, $1.665 million contract that included a $100,000 signing bonus with the Cowboys and he stands to make a base salary of $775,000 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Moore appeared in four games and recorded seven tackles and a half sack for the Seahawks.
