Cowboys Hosting LaTech DE Jaylon Ferguson, Baylor WR Jalen Hurd Next Week

Todd Archer reports that the Cowboys have scheduled to host Louisiana Tech DE Jaylon Ferguson and Baylor WR Jalen Hurd for pre-draft visits next week.

Ferguson previously worked out for the Saints, and visited with the Ravens, Buccaneers, Bengals, Raiders and Bills.

Ferguson, 23, holds the all-time NCAA FBS record for sacks and could be a second-round pick in April’s draft.

Ferguson was not allowed to compete in drills at the Combine after a background check found incidents that violated the NFL’s conduct policy for the event. He was, however, allowed to go through medical evaluations.

Ferguson recorded 187 tackles, 67.5 tackles for a loss, 45 sacks, seven forced fumbles, three recoveries and six pass defenses over the course of four seasons and 50 games played at Louisiana Tech.

Hurd, 23, is considered to be a mid-round prospect in this year’s draft class. He initially began his college career at Tennessee before transferring to Baylor for the 2017 season.

Lance Zeirlein compares Hurd to Terrelle Pryor.

During his four-year college career, Hurd caught 136 passes for 1,438 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. He also rushed for 2,844 yards on 637 carries (4.5 YPC) to go along with 23 touchdowns over the course of 45 games.
