Cowboys Offered 1st- & Late-Rd Picks To Jets For S Jamal Adams, Ravens Also Had Interest

David Moore reports that the Cowboys offered a first-round pick to the Jets for S Jamal Adams, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to get a deal done.

  • Moore says that trade negotiations between the Jets and Cowboys went down to the final seconds.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that the Jets wanted a first- and two second-round picks for Adams. 
  • According to Jane Slater, Dallas offered a first and late-round pick for Adams. 
  • Adam Schefter reported that the Ravens were in the mix to trade for Adams as well.

Adams, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Jets back in 2017. He’s in the third year of his four-year contract worth $22,256,084, which includes a signing bonus of $14,326,244.

The contract also has a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.

In 2019, Adams has appeared in seven games for the Jets and recorded 39 tackles, one interception, a defensive touchdown, and five pass defenses.
