The Dallas Cowboys announced that they’ve placed TE Blake Jarwin, LB Leighton Vander Esch and OL Cam Erving on injured reserve Tuesday.
The Cowboys also signed LB Rashad Smith (Bears) and OT Alex Light (Cardinals) off of their respective team’s practice squads.
Dallas signed S Steven Parker and CB Rashard Robinson to their practice squad.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.
Jarwin, 26, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State back in 2017. He joined their practice squad coming out of the preseason his rookie year and was promoted to their active roster shortly after.
The Cowboys signed Jarwin to a three-year, $24.25 million extension this past March that included $9.25 million guaranteed.
In 2019, Jarwin appeared in all 16 games and recorded 31 receptions for 365 yards receiving (11.8 YPC) and three touchdowns.
Vander Esch, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2018. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $11.8 million contract that included a $6.7 million signing bonus.
The Cowboys will have a fifth-year option to pick up on Vander Esch for the 2022 season.
In 2019, Vander Esch appeared in nine games for the Cowboys and recorded 72 tackles, a half sack, a forced fumble and three pass defenses.
