Cowboys Place QB Zac Dysert On I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The Dallas Cowboys officially placed QB Zac Dysert on injured reserve after clearing waivers on Monday.

Dysert, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2013. He was placed on waivers by the Broncos at the start of the 2014 season, but they later added him to their practice squad.

The Bears claimed Dysert off of waivers a few days before the start of the season, but he was among their final roster cuts. After that, Dysert returned to the Texans, but was on and off of their practice squad before later signing on to the Bills’ practice squad.

The Dolphins signed him to a future/reserve contract before later cutting him loose coming out of the preseason. Dysert was on and off of the Cardinals’ practice squad throughout the 2016 season.

The Cardinals re-signed Dysert to a one-year exclusive rights contract this past March but was waived back in June. The Cowboys quickly claimed Dysert off of waivers only to waive him with an injury designation this past weekend after he suffered a herniated disc.

Dysert has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game.
