Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy says Dallas will place second-round CB Trevon Diggs on injured reserve today, per Michael Gehlken.
Diggs broke a bone in his foot and is expected to miss four to six weeks. That could knock him out for the rest of the 2020 season.
McCarthy also said the Cowboys are designated OT Brandon Knight to return from injured reserve and starting his 21-day practice window, per Jane Slater.
Diggs, 22, was drafted in the second round out of Alabama by Dallas in 2020. He signed a four-year, $6.32 million rookie deal that included a $2.157 million signing bonus.
In 2020, Diggs appeared in nine games for the Cowboys and recorded 48 total tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, two interceptions and 10 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 53 cornerback out of 116 qualifying players.
