Collins has been dealing with a hip issue, while Lee has a lingering pelvis strain since last season.

Both players will be eligible to return in three weeks due to the NFL’s rule change this year.

Collins, 27, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted out of LSU in 2015. He was set to make a base salary of $616,750 for the 2017 season when the Cowboys signed him to a two-year, $15.4 million extension through 2019.

He’s entering the second year of his five-year, $50 million deal and is set to earn base salaries of $1,450,000 and $8,550,000 over the next two years.

In 2019, Collins appeared in 15 games for the Cowboys.

Lee, 34, is a former second-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2010. He played out the final year of his seven-year, $42.63 million that included $16.1 million guaranteed.

The Cowboys brought Lee back on a one-year, $4.5 million contract that included $2 million fully guaranteed this past March.

Lee was expected to begin the 2020 season on Dallas’ injured reserve, so this doesn’t come as a surprise. (NFLTR)

In 2019, Lee appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 86 tackles, one sack, an interception, and four passes defended.
