ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that the Cowboys have re-signed MLB Rolando McClain to a one-year, $3 million contract.
- Werder adds that McClain’s contract includes weekly financial incentives just like DE Greg Hardy‘s deal.
McClain recently visited with the Patriots, but ultimately left without an agreement in place.
Dallas had said all along that they were interested in retaining McClain, even after they brought in some depth at linebacker this offseason.
McClain, 25, came over in a trade with the Ravens and was much more productive than any one expected him to be.
Over the course of four games, McClain has recorded 23 tackles, an interceptions, a forced fumble and a pass defense. On top of that, Pro Foobtall Focus has him rated as the No. 5 inside linebacker in the league this season.
We had McClain listed as the No. 45 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
